Time For Dessert

One of the many perks of being in this city is that everywhere you turn, there’s bound to be some sort of bakery, cafe, or ice cream parlor.
In the month I’ve been here, I’ve tasted some delicious desserts, and there’s barely a day that goes by that I haven’t tried something new. In fact, it’s quite dangerous to be in such close proximity to sugar, seeing as I’m not exactly a model example of self-control, and am able to come up with excuses fairly easily.
However, I do believe in taking advantage of what the country has to offer, and below I’ve posted pictures of some of the desserts I’ve sampled.*
Here’s to living vicariously!

time for dessert

* Above: fresh from the oven almond croissant. Not pictured: creme brulee, tiramisu, and gelato. Best ever.

baklava

∞ A visit to the market isn’t complete without buying baklava: honey nut phyllo dough pastries dripping in sweet syrup ∞

glazed doughnuts

∞ Giant fresh doughnuts covered in melted milk/white chocolate ∞

pain au chocolat

∞ The little patisserie just down the block makes some of the best pain au chocolat (I’m obsessed) ∞

miniatures

∞ Miniatures cakes/trifles that taste as good as they look ∞

macaronmacarons

∞ Chocolate + coffee macarons (from the patisserie down the block) that are the best I’ve tasted ∞
