Hey everyone! I’m excited to share my latest work for The Nosher, these Chocolate Babka Doughnuts, just in time for Chanukah! Made with an eggy, buttery brioche dough, filled with a rich chocolate pastry cream and rolled in cacao nib sugar, these epic doughnuts are a mashup of the ultimate Chanukah treat- sufganiyot- with my favorite Jewish dessert- babka.
Get my recipe + tips and tricks on frying over at The Nosher and witness the miracle that is this fried, golden dough for yourself.
Happy frying!
Chaya
Yields: 12 doughnuts
Why I love this recipe: this babka inspired doughnut dough fries up fluffy and moist and is filled with a simple to make dark chocolate + cocoa pastry cream. Rolled in cacao nib sugar straight from the fryer, these doughnuts are shockingly reminiscent of babka in the best way possible, and are truly a Chanukah worthy mashup.
