It’s A Small World

Israel has a culture that’s warm, inviting and unlike any other I’ve ever experienced. While people in some countries tend to be more reserved and less inclined to hosting tourists, Israelis are bubbly, loud and more than happy to show you around, tell you where to grab a bite to eat, or engage you in a long discussion on anything from politics to where to buy your hummus.
As they’ll tell you, there’s plenty to do, buy and see. Israelis appreciate art and beauty, so paintings + prints are plentiful, usually colorful and exotic, and opal jewelry, leather goods, and silver sculptures can be bought anywhere from the Arab souk, which is well worth experiencing, haggling vendors and all, to the Machane Yehuda market, which sells all sorts of goodies, too. Impromptu street performances and fairs are regular, and cities from everywhere to Tzfat to Tel Aviv to Jerusalem have artists colonies, and open air markets.
Israel is a country with so much to experience, whether it’s hiking and visiting old ruins in the North or beaches in the South, so much so, that even after three visits (this being my third) I still feel like there’s so much more for me to see! I can’t wait to take my next trip, hopefully sooner than later, but until then, I’ll be reminiscing and looking through my pictures, and remembering what a wonderful trip it was.
