After much planning, we finally hosted our first (hopefully annual!) Spring Fete. A brunch of sorts, we planned on combining good food, delightful weather, and fun conversation with a few friends. It came out just as we hoped. We had a great afternoon just spending quality time with friends and enjoying the atmosphere, and we vowed to do it again. In all the excitement, we didn’t get as many pictures as we’d hoped, but we’ve posted a couple of food and action shots, our menu, and some useful pointers. It was worth every minute of preparation, and we hope that this inspires you too celebrate Spring, as well.
xx, Chaya and Sara
Our Invitations: To save time and effort, we sent out online invitations designed by Kate Spade for Paperless Post. We set the date for April 14th, when we knew the weather would be nice.
Our Menu: We wanted to serve light, easy to eat foods that would embody the feeling of Spring. In the end, we served this:
Fresh Squeezed Lemonade
Spinach, Strawberry and Goat Cheese Salad
Cheese Straws
Asparagus and Parmesan Tarts
Lemon Meringue Cupcakes
Strawberry Tart
Our Decor: We kept everything simple and filled the table with little touches that took it from sweet to memorable: small margarita glasses, a vintage teacup filled with condiments, a floral tablecloth, and even a little metal bucket for ice cubes. A small round table kept it intimate.
